The Theatre opened in 1928 and is a marvelous display of the neo-classical/art deco architecture that prevailed during the time period. The 2011 renovation integrated 21st century comfort while returning the historic ambience and character of this 83-year-old structure and gem of Cincinnati. The changes and improvements have successfully created the "Ultimate, Intimate Entertainment Experience" in the Tri-State. Over the years the Taft Theatre has hosted some of the biggest names in music, comedy, television and broadway. From Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Polish composer and pianist (along with being the second Prime Minister of The Republic of Poland) who was the first performer to grace the stage of the Taft Theatre to Robin Williams, George Jones, Bob Dylan, George Carlin and Wilco.

This museum, which opened in 2004, sits along the banks of the Ohio River. And it's a very fitting location since thousands of slaves actually crossed the river from Kentucky into Cincinnati when following the Underground Railroad. Today, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center tells the story of slavery in America with several exhibits, giving a broad sweep of three centuries of history and a more detailed look at the Civil War era. The center also works to educate visitors on the slavery that continues to plague the world.
